All Stars Coming to Tri-City Raceway Park

(Franklin, PA April 29, 2021):  The Flo Racing All Stars Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil One will come to Tri-City Raceway Park this Sunday, May 2, courtesy of Krill Recycling, LLC of Fennelton. “We have been looking forward to this event for quite some time,” said track owner Merle Black. “And, we know that our fans are excited about it, too.” It will be a Sprint Car double header at the track located at 3430 State Route 417 in Oakland Township, which is a short distance outside of Franklin. Gary Glass Automotive  of Venus, PA will be bringing the RUSH Sprint Cars for the first of several appearances at the track.

Drivers from all across the country will converge at Tri-City Raceway Park as the touring series has a diverse and talented roster for the 2021 season. One of the hottest Sprint Car drivers in the land is current points leader Justin Peck, of Monrovia, IN. Peck has victories in Ohio and Pennsylvania so far this year, and he barely missed another in Virginia recently. Another Hoosier star is Tyler Courtney, the former USAC Sprint Car champion, who is making his transition to winged Sprint Car racing. And, let’s not forget Zeb Wise, the youngest driver ever to score a USAC national Midget race win. 

California driver Cory Eliason will be in the house, and he is a two-time runner-up on the All Stars tour. Currently third in the points, Eliason will want to make up some ground on his rivals  this weekend. Bill Balog, formerly of Alaska, will roll in, and his pedigree is impressive, too. He was the champion of the Wisconsin-based Interstate Racing Association Sprint Cars many times over. Add to the mix Ian Madsen, former champion at the Knoxville Raceway in IA and a prior winner with the World of Outlaws tour. This Aussie would like nothing more than to get his first win on Pennsylvania soil this weekend. Illinois pilot Hunter Schuerenberg was also a regular at Knoxville before hitting the road with the All Stars. 

And, speaking of Pennsylvania drivers, the All Stars will have several of them as well. Brent Marks is back in his familiar family-owned car. That’s right, the one in which Marks scored a prestigious victory at the National Open held at venerable Williams Grove Speedway. Joining him will be former Central PA champion Lucas Wolfe and Kyle Reinhardt who relocated to the Keystone state to become a full-time racer.

Some other prominent drivers will be on hand for this special event. Greg Wilson, a former series champ now racing out of western Ohio, will be back at Tri-City Raceway Park. He made his season debut last week testing his car against the stiff competition offered in the Shawgo Real Estate LLC Sprint Car division. Paul McMahan was a regular with the All Stars in recent years, but he has cut back to a part-time schedule. Nonetheless, he has the Tri-City date circled on his calendar.

Jack Sodeman, Jr. and A.J. Flick have already scored wins in the two 410 Sprint Car races held this season at Tri-City Raceway Park, and they will lead the contingent of regional racers seeking to defend the home turf. Neither driver has ever won against the All Stars, tough, so could either one break through on Sunday? Other drivers from the Shawgo Realty Sprint Cars include George Hobaugh, who proudly carries the Krill Recycling colors on his car, Carl Bowser, Bob Felmlee, and Brandon and Brent Matus. Looking to rebound from a crash last weekend will be Brandon Spithaler. Spithaler hopes to regain his winning ways with a new car beneath him.

Former track champion, Rod George, will return to Tri-City Raceway Park aboard the Ted Hull owned RUSH Series Sprint Car. Hull has deep roots at Tri-City, too, having fielded Modifieds and Sprint Cars before joining the RUSH Series. They will be challenged by the likes of Gale Ruth, Jr., Brandon Blackshear, and Chad, Brian and Kevin Ruhlman, all names familiar to the Tri-City fans. Many more racers are expected as Tri-City will host the division multiple times in 2021 thanks to the support of Gary Glass Automotive.

The pit gates will open at 2 p.m., and front gates will open at 4 p.m., with racing commencing at 6 p.m. at Tri-City Raceway Park.

Ticket prices for this special event will be $25 for adults (ages 16 and up) and $15 for students (ages 11-16). Children (ages 10 and under) will be admitted for free. Pit passes will be available for $35.
