Tri-City Raceway Park To Try Again Sunday; RUSH Sprints Added to Program

(Franklin, PA May 17, 2023):  “Hopefully, the third time will be the charm,” track owner Merle Black said when announcing the plan for the twice-postponed season opener at Tri-City Raceway Park. “We are pleased that the RUSH Sprint Cars are available this Sunday, too.” That division was supposed to be added to the opener, but both dates were scrubbed. And, as before, there will be no increase in ticket prices for the extra class on May 21.

In addition to the fabulous five divisions, the top drivers from the 410 Sprint Cars and the 358 Modifieds will be honored for their achievements in 2022. The speedway will be setting a new date to recognize the best runners in the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Pro Stocks and the 4 Your Car Connection Mini Stocks during 2022.

The pit gates will open at 2 p.m., and spectator admission will begin at 4 p.m. Practice sessions will commence at 5:30 p.m., with heat racing starting at 6 p.m.

“With the postponements, there is plenty of interest in this first event of the new season,” Black added. So, fans and participants alike will want to get to the track early to get their preferred vantage points.

The general admission ticket prices will be $15 for adults. Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 10-16) will be admitted for $12. The children (ages 10 and under) will be admitted for free. The popular Family Pass will be back at just $45. That will be good for two adults of any age and two Students. Pit Passes will be $30.

If you cannot make it to Tri-City Raceway Park on May 21, remember that the ground-pounding Big Block Modifieds of the BRP Modified Tour will challenge the track’s nimble 358 Modifieds on May 28. The 410 Sprint Cars, UMP Modifieds, and the 4 Your Car Connection Four Cylinder Mini Stocks will also be in action. Plus, there will be Vintage Modifieds racing in a Memorial event for Lloyd Keith.

Then, on June 4, the 410 Sprint Cars will conclude the annual Western PA Sprint Speedweek at Tri-City Raceway Park. The other divisions making up the traditional Sunday Thunder program will also be on hand.
