Tri-City Raceway Park Will Try Again Sunday

(Franklin, PA May 2, 2023):  Merle Black and his staff at Tri-City Raceway Park will make another attempt to begin the 2023 racing season at the famed Venango County oval this Sunday, May 7. “Hopefully, the weather will be with us this weekend because we know that the racers and the fans are anxious to get things started.”

According to the speedway schedule, May 7 was supposed to be a Sunday Thunder program, which means that the track’s four traditional divisions will be in action. The 410 Sprint Cars and 358 Modifieds will be the main attractions, while the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Pro Stocks and the 4 Your Car Connection Four Cylinder Mini Stocks will also perform. What is more, those two divisions, Pro Stocks and Mini Stocks, will honor the 2022 season champions and other top competitors.

But, with the loss of the April 30 event due to weather, the RUSH Sprints have been added to the program for May 7. So, there will be five divisions in action, with no addition to the ticket prices!

The Pit gates will open at 2 p.m., with spectator gates opening two hours later, at 4 p.m. The practice sessions will start at 5:30. Heat racing will commence at 6 p.m.

The general admission ticket prices will be $15 for adults. Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 10-16) will be admitted for $12. The children (ages 10 and under) will be admitted for free. The popular Family Pass will be back at just $45. That will be good for two adults of any age and two Students. Pit Passes will be $30.

Please note that Sunday, May 14, will have no racing activity at Tri-City Raceway Park.  But remember that another Sunday Thunder program will be presented on May 21. On that evening, the top performers from 2022 in the 410 Sprint Car and 358 Modified divisions will be recognized.
