Tri-City Raceway Park to Try Again Sunday

(Franklin, PA August 15, 2023):  Tri-City Raceway Park will try again on Sunday, August 20, with a Sunday Thunder program after suffering two consecutive cancellations due to adverse weather.

This week’s events will be presented by the Moose Club and the show will include the Kids Back to School Night and Bike Races for the younger set (helmets required). Plus, for the racers, there will be added money on the line for the Diehl Chevrolet 410 Sprints and the 4 Your Car Connection Four Cylinder Mini Stocks.

In addition to those classes, fans will see the Pitt Stop Pub 358 Modifeds and the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Pro Stocks.

The action will be intense as close points battles exist in all of the divisions, and the championships will be resolved on the track and in the heat of competition. Tyler Wyant has the biggest margin, 41 points, but only one more marker separates second from third in the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Pro Stocks. Less than 25 points separate A.J. Flick and Ayden Cipriano from their closest rivals in the Diehl Chevrolet 410 Sprints and Pitt Stop Pub 358 Modifieds, respectively. But, the narrowest margin, only three counters, exists in the 4 Your Car Connection Four Cylinder Mini Stocks.

Pit gates will open at 2 p.m., and spectator gates at 4 p.m. Racing will begin at 6 p.m.

General admission will be $15 for adults (ages 16 to 62) and $13 for seniors (ages 62 and up) and students (ages 10 to 16). Children will be free. The Family Pass will be $45, good for two adults of any age and two students.

Remember that there will be just one more Sunday Thunder program left on the docket at Tri-City Raceway Park after this weekend. The August 27 program will have an added attraction, the UMP Modifieds will be back courtesy of A & MP electric, Inc. of Guys Mills.

Then, over Labor Day weekend, there will be a big two-day event which will include plenty of racing spread over Saturday and Sunday, plus live music, a bonfire, and free camping (no hook-ups). Additional details will be forthcoming soon.
